The process starts today
The Independent Public Revenue Authority extends the automatic granting of VAT numbers to minor children up to 12 years old. The return of VAT starts today, November 11, and is expected to be completed gradually by the end of November. A necessary condition for the performance is the declaration of the children in the Income Tax Returns of the tax year 2023 and the digital verification of the data.
Parents of minors, who receive a TIN, are informed by a relevant message via e-mail and through the “My Messages” box in the myAADE digital portal, under the path Register & Contact > My Messages, or via myAADEapp > My Messages .
It is pointed out that the granting of VAT number by AADE for minor children it does not create an obligation to obtain a lock code or to submit statements.
The automatic issuance of TINs to minors up to 12 years of age complements last year’s action of automatic issuance of TINs to minors over 12 years of age, which facilitated more than 299,000 families, significantly reducing administrative costs. The process of automatically issuing TINs to minors up to 12 years of age is estimated to serve even more families covering 700,000 minors, including those minors over 12 who have not yet received a TIN, it was pointed out in APE BEE.
