The penalty was imposed on the vice-president of PAE Olympiacos for his indecent behavior in the match Panargeiakos-Corinth
The EPO Disciplinary Committee announced that Alexis Kougias will not have the right to enter for the next 2.5 months for the characterizations and insults towards the referees and Diakofotis in the match Panargeiakos-Corinth.
In a video that saw the light of day, Mr. Kougias can be heard threatening lawsuits. The well-known criminologist was furious with the refereeing of the match, for which the Corinth team also issued a statement. In fact, disciplinary proceedings were brought against the vice-president of PAE Olympiacos, because he “intimidated a mandated football body”. Thus, as it became known from the EPO Disciplinary Committee, Alexis Kougias will not have the right of entry for the next 2.5 months.
As it states gazzetta.grthe decision states, among other things:
“From all the elements of the file, including the 111117/12.11.2023 match sheet and the observer’s report from 12.11.2023, the following facts emerge: On 12.11.2023, a football match was held in the context of the 1st phase of the 3rd group of 10th matchday of the championship of the 3rd National Division, season 2023 – 2024, between the teams of the associations, with the name “PANARGIAKOS” (home team) and “PAS KORINTHOS” (guest team), at the Municipal Sports Center of Argos (Argolidos), which ended with goals 1-0 in favor of the home team.
The following disciplinary auditable facts have been recorded on the match sheet
incidents: “… AFTER THE MATCH ENDED AND AS WE WERE HEADING TO THE ROOMS, AT THE MOMENT WHEN WE WERE INSIDE THE COMPETITION AREA, IN THE TARTAN AREA, THE PRESIDENT OF THE HOST KOUGIAS ALEXIOS ENTERED, WHO WAS NOT REGISTERED AT FA, HEADED TO THE PLACE HE TOOK ME BY MY SHORTS TRYING TO TAKE IT OFF. AFTERWARDS AND WHILE THE ASSISTANT TRIED TO PUSH ME AWAY, K. KOUGIAS ALEXIOS PUSHED HIM IN THE FACE WITH HIS LEFT HAND. AFTERWARDS AND WHILE WE WERE IN THE LOCKER ROOM, Mr. KOUGIAS ALEXIOS CAME AND HIT US ON THE GLASS AND CALLED US “I’VE BEEN MARRYING YOUR WOMEN FOR 15 YEARS OLD PEOPLE, I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE AND WHERE YOU WORK AND WHERE YOU TRAIN AND YOU WILL FIND YOU FUCK, YOU WILL LEAVE HERE AT NIGHT, I WILL FOLLOW YOU IN THE CAR BACK TO ATHENS AND I WILL MEET YOU THERE, YOU ARE NOT GOING HOME TODAY.” FOR ANYTHING ELSE THAT ARISES AFTER FA’S CLOSING AND BECAUSE OF THE THREATS I RECEIVED E WILL BE FOLLOWED BY COMPLEMENTARY OUR REPORT. NO OTHER COMMENT.”
Besides, in his report from 12.11.2023, the observer of the match states the following: “At half time of the match I was informed that Mr. Kougias wanted to enter the locker room area, he was allowed to enter and sat in the area during the match. At the end of the match and leaving for the locker room, he came to the pitch and specifically to the corner near the tartan and attacked the referee, Mr. Poulopoulos, trying to pull down his shorts, then he also attacked the assistant. After the referees entered their office, he knocked on the door and cursed them, then addressed Mr. Panagiotis Diakofotis, a member of the EPO executive committee, cursing him with various expressions.
B. Besides, in no. prot. EPO 27162/16.11.2023 written complaint of Panagiotis Diakofotis, President of E.P.S. of Dodecanese and a member of the Executive Committee of the E.P.O., it is reported that after the end of the above race which took place on 12.11.2023 and being in the parking lot of the Municipal Sports Center of Argos, Alexios Kougias hit with his hand the car that the complainant was driving, shouting at him at the same time and then addressing him with the words “Look, you little bastard, I’m fucking your house and your wife, I’ve been fucking her for ten years. Fuck your house, get down baby slut, get down baby slut, get down fat baby, where I find you whore… And in your house fat sister, your ass is like this you whore from fucking… You liked the ass finger, you busty, you liked … That, subsequently, Alexios Kougias followed in the vehicle driven by the vehicle driven by Panagiotis Diakofotis and when Panagiotis Diakofotis stopped in front of a STOP sign, Alexios Kougias got out of his vehicle and moved furiously towards Panagiotis’ vehicle Disruptive, at which point the episode ended with the intervention of the police. The submission of the above complaint was also accompanied by relevant video material, as well as by various sports website publications. Following the above complaints, the no. EPO 28659/08.12.2023 disciplinary indictment by the Deputy Head of Prosecution of Football Offenses, according to which the above actions of Alexios Kougias caused fear to Panagiotis Diakofotis, a person with the status of President of E.P.S. Dodecanese and member of the Executive Committee of the E.P.O. ».
The penalty decision:
“Consequently, both of the incarcerated must be declared, disciplinary-wise, subject to review and imposed, at the expense of the second of them, Alexios Kougias, i) for the violation of article 10 par. 1 par. d I of the Disciplinary Code in conjunction with the article 11 par. 2 and 12 par. 1 of the same Code, in succession (for insulting the referee and insulting the refereeing team in the locker room after the end of the match), the penalty provided for in article 12 par. 1 b’ of the same Disciplinary Code the ban on entry to any stadium, for a period of two (2) months and ii) for the violation of article 10 par. 1 para. e I of the Disciplinary Code in combination with article 11 par. 2 and 12 par. 1 of the same Code (repulsion of an assistant referee after the end of the match), the penalty provided for in article 12 par. 1 b’ of this Disciplinary Code of banning entry to any stadium, for a period of one (1) month, and a total penalty, according to article 4 par. 4 of the same Code, banning entry to any stadium for two and a half (2.5) months, and in case of non-observance of said total penalty banning entry to the stadium must, in accordance with paragraph 8 of article 11 of the above Code, following a (correct) reference to it from paragraph 2 of article 12 of the same Code, to threaten, at the expense of the first expelled union, the penalty of 20,000 euros, reduced to ⅙ thereof, according to article 3 par. 4 approx. c’ of the same Code (a club that competes in the 3rd National category), i.e. a penalty of 3,334.00 euros, after rounding, according to article 4 par. 4 sec. b) of the above Code and, pursuant to article 3 par. 5 of the Disciplinary Code, a penalty of 2,000 euros, because
this is an amateur union. Besides, the first suspended union bears objective responsibility for the indecent behavior of the second suspended, according to article 14 par. 2 of the Disciplinary Code, and a fine of 1,200 euros must be imposed on him, pursuant to the above article, in combination with article 5 par. 1 and 4 of the same Code. The disciplinary sanctions imposed above appear to be necessary, convenient, appropriate and in proportion to the gravity of the disciplinary offenses described above”.
