“The stories we hear from the missing are not exclusively from Famagusta”
Andreas Georgiou was a guest on Eleni Menegaki’s show on Thursday afternoon, who spoke about the new Famagusta series at Mega. The popular artist referred to the footage we are watching in the said serial from her city Famagusta while giving an answer to those who ask him about the stories of the missing.
“I have refused to enter the city of Famagusta to get permission from anyone in the city that belongs to us. I didn’t feel right doing it. So, in particular, I have bought the shots of Famagusta from a foreign filmmaker”, said Andreas Georgiou and continued as follows:
“I have a library bought for the specific shots (of Famagusta). Now, as far as the video shoots are concerned, we do them in the free area of Cyprus. I also want to say something at this point because I am given the opportunity.”
Regarding the stories of the missing, he clarified: “The stories we hear from the missing, because they belong to the story of Michael, played by Christos Loulis, are not exclusively from Famagusta. It concerns the missing persons from all over Cyprus, because some people say to me “why is the series called Famagusta since Harita Mantoles is from Kyrenia?”. Well, I wanted to make this clear because we’re going to see a lot of stories involving missing people from all over Cyprus.”
