“In Greece we are permanently divided as a people”
THE Antonis Kanakis and the team of “Radio Arbyla” returned to the TV receivers this week, after the break of the festive season. As expected, they could not leave the much-discussed issue of the day, which is none other than the bill for same-sex couples, unaddressed.
The show featured excerpts from related reports that were broadcast throughout this time, with the placement of ordinary citizens as well as famous people. The presenter of ANT1 then took the floor to make his own comment on the burning issue.
“At #12 the insanity begins. Same-sex couples have pulled everything for too many years and what they’re pulling now is probably the worst. As expected, in the country we live in, the circus was inevitable”, said Antonis Kanakis initially.
“The political circus, the religious circus, the media circus, the social one… is really becoming a waste”, emphasized the host of “Radio Arvyla”.
“In Greece – this is awesome – maybe it’s our geographical location but also our culture… we are permanently divided as a people. Half of us belong to Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Turkey and the other half are France, Germany, London, America. We are there and this thing is fighting within us, these two cultures are fighting, there is killing. We don’t really know what we are and it’s a massacre”, Antonis Kanakis commented immediately afterwards.
“What is being said and what is being heard at the moment… On the one hand, the political leadership needs a tutorial, for an issue that in the year 2024 all the countries of the Western world have managed in one way or another… on the other hand, today announcement of the Holy Synod… for what reason I cannot understand.
We fell from the clouds, they disagree with the wedding… while we were waiting for them to give their wish. I don’t remember that there has ever been a Holy Synod on all these worldwide phenomena of abuse of minors within the gulf of the Churches”, concluded Antonis Kanakis in his comment on the much-discussed bill.
