For 8 hours he underwent surgery which was crowned with success
The doctors of the “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital are moderately optimistic about the state of health of the 14-year-old, who suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and collapsed while singing carols in Arta.
The young boy underwent surgery for a brain aneurysm, which was completed successfully and his postoperative course is good. He is still hospitalized in the ICU of the “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital and is in a stable condition. “The neurosurgery to treat the child’s cerebral hemorrhage is considered successful. A whole team of doctors took part. It was a difficult and delicate operation and lasted more than 8 hours, until the early hours of the morning,” said the treating doctors.
Although he is intubated, it is possible that in the next few hours the process of reducing the sedatives will begin, so that the doctors can proceed with his extubation. It is recalled that the child was initially taken to the hospital of Arta, where an X-ray was performed and it was found that he has a cerebral hemorrhage. Afterwards, he was transferred to the “Hatzikosta” hospital he was in charge of, intubated and transferred to the University Hospital of Ioannina.
