The “Butterfly of the Aegean” can boast of the most wonderful Country in all of Greece
The top is conquered by Astypalea in the new list of the world’s seven most impressive destinations, beyond the “trivial” for 2025, as announced by the international travel blog “7 Continents 1 Passport”.
Prominent blogger Pericles Rosa, who traveled to every continent to discover “unknown treasures” for 2025, reports that “if you dream of visiting a Greek island that is not detected by mass tourism radars and you need a place to recharge your “batteries”, Astypalaia is the best answer.
The “Butterfly of the Aegean” combines elements from the Cyclades and Dodecanese and boasts the most wonderful Country in all of Greece which is full of white houses, characteristic windmills, churches with blue domes and an imposing castle dominating from above. The island boasts many miles of unspoilt beaches, crystal clear turquoise waters, rich cuisine and picturesque alleyways.”
Next on the list are the islands of Boipeba in Brazil, Ko – Lipe in Thailand, Raja Ampat in Indonesia, Socotra in Yemen, San Andres in Colombia and Lord Howe in Australia.
“The secret of Astypalaia lies in the different elements that coexist harmoniously in the destination. Against the background of the blue-green sea, the Dodecanese meet the Cyclades, alternative activities are combined with absolute relaxation and the traditional is ideally married with the future of sustainability. After all, this is the story that impresses every year, international media, tourist agencies as well as new and repeat visitors”, explains the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Astypalaia, Kostas Kambylis. It is noted that the dedication came about after a visit of selected journalists and travel bloggers to the island from abroad, following an invitation from the Municipality.
