“Discounts help consumers get the products they are interested in at much lower prices. Traffic is increased in Ermou, but also in other markets. The previous holiday season went very well in terms of shopping. We’ve had increased traffic and turnover in terms of volumes and value, which means consumers are taking advantage of sale periods to be able to get the products they want at lower prices.”
This was pointed out by the Minister of Development Kostas Skrekas during his visit today to stores in Athens on the occasion of the start of the winter sales, according to a relevant announcement of the Athens Chamber of Commerce (ESA).
The President of ESA Stavros Kafounis stated for his part:
“I am happy that together with Mr. Minister we went to the shops of the center and found the orderly operation of the market and the adequacy of the products. We saw the commercial businesses have full shelves and great prices and we personally confirmed the professionalism and consistency of both the entrepreneurs and the employees. We hope that the results of the winter sales, which will be reflected as always in the large Chamber of Commerce survey, will be in line with the expectations of the trading world, continuing the upward trend they showed during the festive period..
