A 17-year-old boy who went to help him is in critical condition
Tragedy occurred late Friday afternoon in the Ardaniou-Feron area in Evros, when two people, a 53-year-old and a 17-year-old, were struck by a high-voltage electric current, which resulted in the instant death of the first and the second being amused.
More specifically, the incident happened at 6:00 in the afternoon in the rural area of Ardani, where the 53-year-old farmer was harvesting the cotton he had cultivated with his cotton machine. When he went to pick up the full basket, to empty it into the cart, it came into contact with PPC cables, causing the 53-year-old farmer’s instant death, while the 17-year-old who tried to save him was also electrocuted . At the same time, all cotton production caught fire.
The 17-year-old was transferred to the University Hospital of Alexandroupoli and his condition is extremely critical.
