Discounts up to 50% will be enjoyed by teachers who were hired as temporary substitutes to cover the needs in the school units.
With a joint initiative of the Ministries of Education, Religion and Sports and Maritime and Island Policy, discounts of up to 50% were achieved on ferry tickets of substitute teachers hired for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Specifically:
Ferry tickets
Sea Jets: 50% discount for passengers and their cars and bikes.
Fast Ferries: 30% discount for passengers and 20% for their vehicles.
Dodekanissos Sea Ways: 50% discount for passengers.
Levante Ferries: 50% discount for passengers and their vehicles.
Aegean Sea Lines: From Lavrio/Kavala to Ag. Eustratio/Lemnos: 50% discount for passengers, I.X. their vehicles and their motorcycles.
Attica Group: 50% discount for passengers, cars their vehicles and their motorcycles.
Goutos Lines/KATHRIA NE: Lavrio-Kea, Lavrio-Kythnos with E/G-O/G Makedon: 50% discount for passengers, in I.X. their vehicles and engines
Levante Ferries Group: Zakynthos – Kefallonia – Ithaca: 50% discount for passengers, I.X. their vehicles and machines
Skyros Marine Company: 50% discount for passengers and vehicles. their vehicles (The discount applies only to non-subsidized itineraries).
It is recalled that with a joint initiative of the Ministry of Education, Religion and Sports and the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy, reductions in ferry tickets have been announced for the hired – both during the A’ as well as during the B’ and C’ phases – substitute teachers. As noted in the relevant announcement of the Ministry of Shipping and Insular Policy, in the coming days other companies may be added to the above table, at which time a new update will be issued.
According to the ministry’s announcement, the discount will cover the teachers’ travel from their permanent places of residence to the final island, where they took up service. Necessary supporting documents for the provision of the discount will be the relevant decision of the Ministry of Education, Religion and Sports, which mentions their recruitment, as well as their police ID.
