Thanks to the immediate intervention of the fire brigade with a boom truck – a specialized vehicle for tall buildings – the fire did not spread to neighboring buildings and no people were in danger. It was extinguished within an hour, as stated in ERT Corfu the Regional Commander of the Ionian Islands Fire Department, Nikos Kolovos.
