In “foot” all class, security and traffic services – Extraordinary traffic arrangements in Athens
The forces of ELAS will be on Thursday, February 27, on Thursday, February 27th. Throughout Greece and especially in Athens, Thessaloniki and other major cities, in view of the rallies that will take place on Friday, February 28th on the occasion of the two -year period from the Tempe railway tragedy. The mandate given to ELAS, as the Minister of Citizen Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis, pointed out in his statements, is “to preserve the safety of demonstrators and the safe conduct of demonstrations”.
Specifically in Athens, where there is a large participation in the rally in Syntagma Square, security measures will be particularly high to prevent any incident. In particular, more than 5,000 police officers from all class, security and traffic services will be on foot throughout the day. At the same time, the ELAS helicopter will fly early, as well as a drone, which will give a picture to the GADA Business Center.
In addition, the Police Water Water Vehicles will be on the alert, the “Ayntas”, and from the morning there will be preventive checks in downtown Athens. Also, men and women of security will be in political clothing among the concentrated, so that those who attempt to trigger incidents can be isolated in a timely manner. At the same time, as announced by ELAS, extraordinary traffic arrangements will apply on Friday in the wider area of downtown Athens, which will be implemented gradually and according to the prevailing conditions.
Police are calling for drivers to better serve them and avoiding additional traffic problems, to avoid passing and parking their vehicles on the road network of the wider downtown Athens and to follow the instructions of the traverses.
