EFET is recalling a batch of dried apricots packaging, as checks have shown that it contains sulfur dioxide in a concentration that exceeds the maximum allowable limit.
Specifically, as stated in the announcement “the Unified Food Control Agency (EFET) and specifically the Regional Directorate of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace when carrying out controls within the framework of the official control program for the year 2023, for the control of food additives and flavoring substances in various types of food, carried out a sampling of food with the information “DRIED APRICOT” in a closed plastic package of 250g, with batch number 02-251 and consumption until: 18/08/2024, packaged by the company “KARPOS” Sidiropoulos K. & Co. E.E., based in Lydia N. Kavala.
The product was examined by the Chemical Service of Central Macedonia of the General Directorate of the General Chemistry of the State, of A.A.D.E. and found to contain sulfur dioxide in a concentration exceeding the maximum permissible limit.
The EFET demanded the immediate recall/withdrawal of the entire specific batch of the above UNNORMAL – UNSAFE product, from the internal market and the relevant controls are already underway.
