The permit will be given on the spot for a stay of 7 days and valid for 12 months
An agreement has been concluded for the provision of 7-day tourist visas to Turkish citizens for 10 islands of the Eastern Aegean.
The license will be given on the spot and will be valid for a total of 12 months. However, it will be checked whether its course is going well from both sides. The agreement also concerns the support of tourism on the specific islands, which are:
- Lemnos
- Lesvos
- Chios
- Samos
- Leros
- Kalymnos
- Kos
- Rhodes
- Symi
- Kastelorizo
Kyriakos Mitsotakis emphasized that the government “requested and secured the approval of the European Commission, in order to activate the possibility for Turkish citizens and their families to visit ten of our islands all year round, for seven days, which either have refugee structures or have direct ferry connections with Turkey”.
