The public television presenter broke out with the intervention of the church and the influence it exerts on parliamentarians
Fotis Sergoulopoulos, the host of ERT’s “Morning se idon” show, made a very specific statement about the upcoming bill on procreation by same-sex couples on Wednesday.
And this because in the new book of the journalist, Kostas Laskaratos, who was invited, among other things, extensive reference is made to the change in the position of women over the years in society. More specifically, Fotis Sergoulopoulos characteristically noted that “what are the MPs afraid of (for the bill)?” What are they afraid of? Are they afraid of their political cost? That, let’s say, the church may have helped them a lot to get out and now they have an obligation to it?”
“I feel there is an obligation. That is, because the church also came out and spoke, which you don’t expect it to say anything other than what it said. Dogma is, what can it do to you? But the issue is that many MPs are affected by this, because the church, many times, we know very well, especially in the province, has helped some to come out” continued Fotis Sergoulopoulos.
“But how can a political game be played on human rights? Because right now we are talking about a bill, which should not even concern us, since it concerns some people, which will make them happier” added Fotis Sergoulopoulos.
