A key criterion was accuracy and the need to boost workers’ incomes
“From January 1, 2024, the three-year period will “unfreeze”” said the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Adonis Georgiadis, in an interview with the Real FM radio station.
As he said, the three years “unfreeze” earlier and the main criterion for this decision of the ministry was the accuracy and the need to strengthen the incomes of the workers. At the same time, Mr. Georgiadis referred extensively to the initiatives of the Ministry of Labour, pointing out that the labor bill has already been passed, while the new insurance bill is being put up for public consultation this week. Among other things, the minister emphasized that unemployment is constantly decreasing and the training programs of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) are “running” at high speed.
Also, when asked about whether sufficient measures have been taken for accuracy, Mr. Georgiadis replied that the government is acting as a whole. “It is the prime minister’s order to fight our battle and everyone fights it in their own way. Accuracy is a very big problem” commented the Minister of Labor and underlined that the effort of the Ministry of Development on this matter is great.
Asked to comment on the Tempi investigation requested by the KKE and the preliminary investigation that PASOK plans to request with the agreement of SYRIZA, Adonis Georgiadis replied: “Kyriakos Mitsotakis enjoys unprecedented political sovereignty. In my opinion, the main reason he has this dominance is because all his political opponents have decided – I don’t know for what reasons – instead of dealing with what really interests the Greeks, to deal with things that concern no one , but only their microcosm. That is, today in Greece, how many of our 100 fellow citizens do you think, if we ask them, are interested in an investigative or pre-investigative committee for Tempi? And how many care about accuracy, how many care about their child finding a job, how many care about immigration, how many care about security?”
