“Belittling and demeaning people to make 2-3 points more, I’m glad people are turning their backs on these TV shows”
Giorgos Liagas dealt with the topic of Stamatis Gardelis today from the beginning of the show. The presenter, on the occasion of the actor’s participation in “Celebrity” and his non-existence in a television series, could not stand it and broke out on the air of ANT1.
“The dimension I want to give to the issue is how we treat people who at some point we raised them, at some point we stigmatized them as belonging to a trash television and cinema era… And at some point, instead of giving them roles for people to live decently, we only had them play in reality shows. To get the cute, the funny, the slick, the bit gaudy? I don’t know, describe it however you want as a part of their existence, which we probably all have,” Giorgos Liagas initially said.
Giorgos Liagas then said: “But we putting them on reality shows, that part we wanted to get, to laugh. Because that’s bowling too, it’s not just the fat bowlers. When I put a former big star on a reality show to get some elements, the slickest, so to speak, of his personality, to laugh at home, that’s bowling too. And we all have the responsibility. And what to do? Shouldn’t we watch TV? No, let’s not see.”
In closing, Giorgos Liagas said: “I am happy that Celebrity makes 4%. If I worked at SKAI, I would say the same. And if ANT1 played it, I would say the same, I’m clear. For me it is progress of the society that such effective reality shows… To belittle and spoil people in order to make 2-3 points more, I am glad that the world is turning its back on these television shows”.
