According to the Ministry of Tourism
The period for submitting investment projects as part of the Call for Expressions of Interest of the project “Upgrading Tourist Ports” of Action 16931 “Tourism Development” was successfully completed on 31.01.2024, with a total public expenditure of 139,090,800 euros financed by the Recovery and Resilience Fund.
A total of 41 investment projects were submitted by tourism management bodies ports (marinas, shelters and moorings) for a total amount of 184,588,025.30 euros, far exceeding the planned budget. The evaluation of the investment projects by the Ministry of Tourism has already begun and those that are approved will soon be included in the program.
In her statement, the Minister of Tourism, Olga Kefalogianni, emphasized that an important step is being implemented to upgrade maritime tourism in order to make the most of its potential. His goal ministry, underlined Mrs. Kefalogianni, is to improve the quality of marine tourism services and meet the increased demand for yachting tourism in Greece with the aim of increasing competitiveness, promoting our country to even higher positions internationally. The protection of the marine and coastal areas by ensuring the sustainability and viability of the tourism activity is a strategic goal of the Ministry, added Mrs. Kefalogianni.
