The index of repeat visitors from the Nordic country is high

At the same time, the EOT Service of Outer Scandinavia, awarded as Best Foreign Tourism Organization for 2023 (The best foreign Tourist Office of the year 2023) and is the award it received – also for the second consecutive year – after being honored in the same event as the Best Foreign Tourism Organization for the year 2022 as well!
The two new firsts of Greece and EOT were announced at the annual “Grand Travel Awards” (GTA) ceremony, held on January 11 in Oslo, Norway.
The Grand Travel Awards (GTA) have been organized continuously for 26 years by the professional travel magazine Reis and the same company’s website, Travel News, in Norway and Sweden, constituting the industry’s most important annual meeting in all areas of local tourism. tourism industry.
The award ceremony was attended and received by its Commissioner Greek Embassy in OsloKonstantinos Danassis and Maria Zevgoula from the EOT Service of Scandinavia.
Norwegians’ preference for Greece was confirmed immediately after its award at the international tourism fair Reiselivsmessen/Travelxpo 2024, held from January 13 to 14, at the Telenor Arena in Oslo, Norway.
The E.O.T. participated in the Exhibition with a stand of 18 sq.m. and co-exhibitors the Region of Crete-Regional Unit of Chania and the Region of K. Macedonia. The country’s participation concluded with the finding that Greece is one of the top travel destinations for Norwegians.
Reiselivsmessen/Travelxpo 2024 was attended by 166 Exhibitors from all over the world, including Tourist Offices and representatives of State Tourism Organizations, mainly from countries outside Europe.
The visitors, who according to the organizers amounted to approximately 10,000 people, showed a special interest in Greece and in particular in alternative tourism destinations, which combine the natural environment with access to the sea, while an important incentive for holidays in our country is the rich Greek gastronomy.
Greece is one of the most favorite tourist destinations of Norwegians with a high rate of repeat visitors, especially the 50+ age group who travel four times on averageare of a high income level and appreciate the cultural wealth of the country, the authentic natural environment and the Greek cuisine.
