A serious accident occurred earlier today on Attiki Odos, with the information stating that a vehicle entered the oncoming traffic, under unspecified circumstances, as a result of which it collided with another vehicle.
According to the first information cited by the irafina.gr, the accident happened when an 89-year-old man arrived at the Koropio toll booth and decided he didn’t want to pay the toll. He reversed and started going… backwards! On its way, it collided head-on with a car that was traveling normally on the road.
According to the Fire Department, the elderly man was extricated from his vehicle and handed over to an EKAV ambulance for transport to a hospital. Six Firefighters with two vehicles attempted to extricate him.
