What changes to the criteria – How to complete the application
The myHeating platform was opened at noon on Wednesday 13 November, where beneficiaries can apply to be paid the 2024 heating allowance.
Applications can be submitted until December 6, so that 60% of the subsidy is paid within the month. The amount corresponding to the 2024 heating allowance can reach up to 1,200 euros. On the platform, taxpayers have the possibility to submit an application for inclusion in the Register of Beneficiaries of the Heating Allowance for heating oil, other fuels or electricity, but also to declare the thousands of heating costs among the tenants of an apartment building. The allowance will be tiered depending on the type of fuel. The more environmentally friendly it is, the greater the boost will be.
Households that meet the income and property criteria and use electrical appliances to heat their home will receive a higher heating allowance this year than those using heating oil or other forms of fuel.
What changes?
In particular, the changes to the heating allowance concern:
1. The heating allowance is increased by 20% for beneficiaries who choose to heat with electricity. The basic allowance will amount to 380 euros and will fluctuate depending on the temperature per region, while last year the basic allowance was 60 euros and with the special rates it ranged from 45 euros to 480 euros for mountainous areas. The subsidy will cover six months from three months last year and the amounts will be credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries, while in the winter season 2023-2024 they were given in the form of a discount on electricity bills.
2. The maximum amount of the allowance increases to 1,200 euros compared to 1,000 euros last year’s winter season.
3. The basis for calculating the heating allowance for oil will be 300 euros from 350 euros last year and will fluctuate depending on the region. For pellets it will be 360 euros from 350 euros last year, while in mountainous areas where a subsidy is given for firewood it will remain at 350 euros.
4. The first installment comprising 60% of the allowance will be given in December, while the remaining 40% will be given at the end of April, after weighing the weather data.
5. The value of the real estate cannot exceed 200,000 euros for a single person, 240,000 euros for a married person and is increased by 40,000 euros for each child. This means that for a family with one child the limit is set at 280,000 euros, for two children at 320,000 and for three children at 360,000 euros.
6. Their annual total family income, regardless of its source, real and assumed, amounts to up to 16,000 euros for unmarried and 24,000 euros for married which is increased by 5,000 euros for each child. For a single-parent family, the aforementioned income amounts to 29,000 euros, which is increased by 5,000 euros for each child after the first.
