What changes this year and the amounts that will be distributed
In the coming days, the issuance of the ministerial decision is expected, which determines the granting conditions, the amount and the beneficiaries of the heating allowance, so that the myHeating platform can also be opened for applications.
According to what has been known so far, this year’s allowance will reach up to 1,000 euros for the beneficiaries who live in settlements with increased energy needs due to the cold, while the allowance will be increased by up to 25% for those who use electricity compared to oil for their heating. The first installment will not amount to 60% of the total amount and will be paid in December 2024, while the payment of the remaining 40% will take place in April 2025. The allowance will be graduated, depending on the type of fuel. The more environmentally friendly the fuel, the greater the boost will be.
The income criteria
For the approval of the subsidy, the same criteria as last year will apply, in order to determine the beneficiaries. In particular, to receive the allowance, beneficiaries must have:
- annual income up to 16,000 euros for singles,
- up to 24,000 euros for married couples, an amount which increases by 5,000 euros for each child, for families with children.
At the same time, the total value of the real estate should not exceed:
- 200,000 euros for singles
- 300,000 euros for married couples and single-parent families.
It is reminded that the allowance is paid following an application on the “myHeating” platform of AADE.
