Heavy charges await all those who are proven to have participated in the attack against Giorgos Lyggeridis
After the death today of the 31-year-old police officer Giorgos Lyggeridis, the indictment both for the 18-year-old confessed perpetrator, who has already been remanded in custody, and for every other person involved and identified for participation in the murderous attack against him in the incidents in Rentis, it is to be changed to manslaughter from attempted murder.
Therefore, the 18-year-old is expected to be summoned again, in order to additionally apologize for homicide. It is recalled that this case has already been upgraded by order of the prosecutor of the Supreme Court, since it is included in the files brought by the Minister of Citizen Protection, Yiannis Oikonomou and Deputy Minister of Sports, Yiannis Vroutsis, for criminal organization and possible connection with other organized illegal actions such as drugs, weapons, etc.
The unfortunate policeman succumbed to his injuries at 12:34 in the General State of Nice, while he had undergone amputation of his leg. According to an earlier announcement, a metal object 5 cm long, 2 cm thick and 2 cm wide was removed from his leg. There was extensive tissue damage and injuries as the police officer from the time of his injury never regained contact with the environment.
