Dead pets and fish placed unknown early on the morning of Wednesday, February 26th at the playground located inside the Aegean Street park, in the Byzantine area, as well as on the benches and the paved in the surrounding area.
With the heinous sight, the cleaning service was briefed and the cleaning service rushed to the park with a workshop led by the Deputy Mayor of Cleanliness & Recycling, Mary Tsirabidou, while the Municipality of Kalamaria proceeded with the procedures.
According to a statement, the Municipality of Kalamaria, after collecting the dead animals by the competent, multilateral workshop of the Cleanliness Service of the Municipality of Kalamaria, has disinfected and deep cleaning the park as well as all games in the playground.
The Municipality of Kalamaria strongly condemns this act and is committed to cooperation with the police authorities to do every necessary action to find the culprits. “The protection of public space and the preservation of public health is for the administration of the Municipality of Kalamaria and for all its citizens, concepts and values self -evident and non -negotiable,” the statement said.
