“They’re raising their kids that I raised and we could have been friends”
Lakis Gavalas expressed his big complaint in an interview on the show “Smile Again” and Odysseas Mitsopoulos. The well-known designer talked about television, the Christmas he spent in prison, the reason he keeps changing his will, while he also mentioned his sisters.
“And as much as I wanted to be on Your Face Sounds Familiar, which I really wanted to, I learned that it’s not going to happen for the first half of 2024,” he initially said Lakis Gavalas and continued:
“I would serve Giorgos Liagas a delicious kopsidi, which he would eat with his hands, but because he has an otorhinolaryngological problem, he would sneeze all the time. If Katerina Kainourgiou came to my Christmas dinner, she would only eat the dessert because she would have come from four other invitations. I would give her a wonderful courabier. I would treat Fai Skorda with a treat, which she would have brought herself from her amazing village. Zina Koutselini would have come in the afternoon and we would have cooked together, I just won’t let her add too much salt.”
Regarding Despina Vandi’s outfit, Lakis Gavalas said: “I don’t agree with Despina Vandi’s style in the nightclub that appears. We don’t judge ages, we judge style. Red is not fashion for stage. It shows her silhouette dotted. Vandy is a goddess, who has not discovered that she would be protected in a magnificent black garment, which would leave one of her arms or one of her calves bare.”
About Christmas in prison, Lakis Gavalas said: “On Christmas days in prison, I could only discipline and sing Holy Night together with five other prisoners. The only thing that bothered me was that I was the only dissenter. Since they see us now in prisons, let me say that it will do them good to be disciplined, to be punished and to have a better year than they have had.”
Regarding the relationship with his sisters, Lakis Gavalas said: “I miss them and every time there are holidays I believe that they will take me and tell me that they reviewed what happened. They haven’t yet. I have a complaint, not only about these days, but also because they are raising their children whom I have brought up and we could have been friends.”
In closing, Lakis Gavalas said about his will: “I change my will every now and then because I want to leave my personal belongings to my friends.”
