Found in his home cryptocurrency search software
After the body of 31-year-old Babis Koutsikos was found in Messolonghi, the authorities have now turned their investigations to the motives of this brutal murder, while the 51-year-old butcher insists that he did not kill him.
Police officers searched the victim’s home, where they found a notebook, which contained notes and names of people to whom he had lent various sums of money. Specifically, in this notebook, Babis wrote dates, numbers, locations and names of people, to whom he allegedly lent a total of over 60,000 euros. Among these names is that of the butcher.
The people mentioned in the 31-year-old’s notebook have been called to testify again, not because they are considered suspicious, but to establish what kind of financial activities they had with Babis. The authorities also confiscated mobile phones and a laptop, while of particular interest is a crypto currency production machine, which was found in the 31-year-old’s home and was connected via an application to his mobile phones. According to Mega, the scenario of selling cryptocurrencies and involving other people in the case is now being considered.
“Babis was looking for pounds”
For his part, the accused for the murder of the 31-year-old, in his apology, allegedly claimed that the victim was engaged in treasure hunting. “He was working with someone from Aitoliko and someone from Agrinio. He did not tell me their names, but he told me that they had gone to a well in the TEI area, near a church with a machine. He wanted to buy a machine for 1,300 euros,” he allegedly argued in his apology.
