The island of Cyclades is included in the annual list for autumn holidays of the international travel website Travel.com
Travel.com has announced its annual list of destinations in Europe that are offered for autumn holidays and show the greatest added holiday value, including a region from Greece, Naxos.
The international travel website trusted by millions of tourists, recommends the island of Ariadne in ninth place for quality holidays without high prices and crowds. This year’s “dozen” of travel.com, formed after journalistic research, also includes Seville, Sintra, Portugal, Limassol, Giethoorn, Netherlands, Granada, Bordeaux, Hallstatt, Austria, Italian Cinque Terre villages and Füssen in Bavaria.
The Deputy Mayor of Tourism of the Municipality of Naxos and the Small Cyclades, Vangelis Katsaras, told APE that “for 2023, Naxos set a record for coastal boat arrivals over the course of a decade, both for August and June, while the trend was upward in July as well. Traffic remained high in September and October. It is impressive that Naxos received tourists even in November, as our orientation now is to take advantage of elements of the destination that are also attractive in autumn, such as walking tourism, nature worship, village tours, gastronomy and much more” .
Travelers’ interest in off-season vacations was also confirmed by the recent organized participation of the Municipality of Naxos and Small Cyclades in the major international tourism exhibition WTM in London, where a number of scheduled meetings with representatives of the tourism sector took place. It is noted that in recent years, with the help of a specialized company, the municipality has implemented a promotional program aimed at markets in Europe and more distant countries, to highlight the historical and cultural heritage, gastronomy, incomparable natural beauty, wedding tourism, hiking , diving, water sports and other alternative activities.
