Tomorrow Monday the two lawsuits will be heard, since the police officer and his ex-wife have sued each other
Announcement regarding the police officer who served in the Parliament Guard and was arrested yesterday for domestic violence following a complaint made against him by his ex-wife, EL.AS issued.
As he points out, the police officer was removed from his post in the Parliament to another service, while at the same time he was suspended and his weapons were removed. In particular, it states: “Regarding reports and publications concerning a police officer who is accused of domestic violence, the Hellenic Police Headquarters clarifies the following: Yesterday afternoon (12-21-2024) the ex-wife of the police officer submitted for the first time has a complaint against him regarding incidents that have taken place since 2019 and fall under the Domestic Violence Act. Among them, he reported an incident of threat, which, according to the complaint, was committed within the limits of the autoforos.
In this context, the competent police service immediately informed the competent Prosecutor, a case file was filed for violation of the Domestic Violence Act, while the police officer was searched and arrested. At the same time, his Service carried out all the necessary actions to remove his weaponry, while he was moved to another Service and made available.”
According to sources of the Parliament, EL.AS. informed the Security Service of the Parliament about the incident and the lawsuit against the policeman yesterday Saturday, late in the afternoon, in order to arrest him in the context of the car crash. The police officer was off duty and would be on duty this afternoon and for this reason his arrest took place outside Parliament. As of this morning, the particular policeman was removed from Parliament. Tomorrow, Monday, the two lawsuits will be heard, given that the police officer and his ex-wife have sued each other. The police officer’s file had no disciplinary offences.
