The next stop in Athens on January 26-27
By holding new “Career Days” in 2024, an initiative which is part of a set of active policies and actions to boost employment, the Public employment Service (DYPA) attempts to strengthen its mediating role in the labor market, in order to achieve an effective coupling between supply and demand.
In this context, DYPA is organizing the 24th “Career Days” event in Athens, which will take place on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 January 2024 at the Peristeri Exhibition Center (Dodekanisou 106, Peristeri, 12134), from 10:00 a.m. to 18:00.
According to DYPA, “Career Day” has now become established as an institution, which has been “embraced” by local communities and has a great response from businesses, but also from job seekers, which is demonstrated by the ever-increasing number of company participations and the keen interest of citizens. Also, the results recorded both for the unemployed and for businesses are positive, as, in many cases, hiring is done immediately after the event, with the process of finding suitable staff continuing during the following period of time . After all, by organizing such events, the Service Unit for Medium and Large Enterprises (MEMME) of DYPA has significantly helped the workforce to find stable and quality jobs and businesses to find the right staff”.
Based on the planning so far, the next “Career Days”, which have already been planned, are in January in Athens, in February in Thessaloniki, in March in Heraklion, Crete, in April in Kilkis, in May in Volos and in June in Chalkida .
The next stop is Athens
At the “Career Days” of DYPA, which will take place on January 26 and 27, 2024 at the Peristeri Exhibition Center, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., unemployed people, but also those looking for a better job or even a different professional opportunity , have the opportunity to talk directly with representatives of companies from many sectors of economic activity, who have job vacancies and need personnel with the appropriate qualifications and the necessary knowledge and skills.
So far, more than 100 companies are set to participate in the two-day event, offering over 2,500 jobs in a wide range of specialties and for all levels of education.
Entry to the event is free and registration is available at: https://www.eventora.com/el/Events/imera-karieras-dypa-Athina-2024.
In particular, job seekers will have the opportunity to chat directly, without a pre-arranged appointment, with business executives who are looking for staff, to explore career development opportunities in different areas that interest them, to be informed about the range of jobs available and the specialties they have the greatest demand from businesses, as well as to meet with specialized employment advisors and executives of the Service Unit for Medium and Large Enterprises (MEMME) and to be informed about the actions and services of DYPA.
For their part, companies looking for staff will be able to meet with a large number of candidates to fill their vacancies, while they will be able to conduct interviews and collect CVs from candidates and show them to a very significant number of interested parties the possibilities of professional development provided by each company.
During the two days, DYPA will implement actions within the framework of the European Year of Skills, with the participation of teachers and students from the Apprenticeship Vocational Schools (EPAS). At the same time, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the relevant initiatives at a special stand.
Spyros Protopsaltis at APE-MPE: Significant number of recruits
Speaking to APE-MBE, the head of DYPA, Spyros Protopsaltis, states that the Public Employment Service has now entered an extroverted and dynamic trajectory, which aims to provide modern and efficient services to citizens looking for work and to businesses looking for staff.
As he points out, DYPA’s “Career Days” have already been “embraced” since their inception, two years ago, by local communities throughout the country and the ever-increasing number of participations, attendance and jobs offered, highlights the trust we are establishing with citizens and the business world in recent years, managing, at the same time, to achieve a significant number of recruitments, with more than 5,000 recruitments so far.
“Prioritizing for one more year actions to promote employment, we start in 2024 with the organization of Athens, which we decided to be two days, so that all citizens – who are looking for a job or want to change jobs – can talk to business executives , to submit their resumes and do on-the-spot job interviews. We continue to invest in essential actions and services, which support the unemployed, who want them to know that they always have DYPA by their side”, emphasizes Mr. Protopsaltis.
