“You can see this lie from all the shows on Greek television”
For age racism and the exclusion of people whom society considers incompetent due to illness, Giorgos Liagas was appointed on the occasion of the death of Katia Nikolaidou and the difficulties she faced in her professional life, since it became known that she had cancer.
“Because it’s easy to make wishes on TV, which make us likeable, to increase the followers. The easy solution. You can see this lie from all the shows on Greek television. Unfortunately. Here we have a different approach and I have a different way of thinking that I have been sharing with you for so many years”, Giorgos Liagas initially said.
“We live in an absolutely racist society, which, unfortunately, no #metoo and no political correctness, real racism does not highlight. We highlight the bad parts of our society only when they are commercial or we think it will do us good. No one talks about ageism, no one talks about the exclusion of people who are considered by society to be sick, therefore unable to act and star,” he continued.
“I pose a question: Since the day she got cancer and fought bravely for 20 years, has this girl been offered the corresponding offers from television and the theater for her talent? Or did some say that because he got cancer he can’t play? I’m not saying this by chance”, said Giorgos Liagas afterwards and asked himself: “Will anyone in this country talk about this racism or not?” he concluded.
