Work stoppage of OLME and ADEDY
A new general education rally is taking place today in Propylaia.
OLME and ADEDY have decided to stop work for today with the aim of the participation of teachers and workers, respectively, in the student rally in Propylaia and in all mobilizations throughout the country. The work stoppage will last from 11:00 in the morning until the end of the schedule.
- The Board of OLME supports the public nature of the Universities and invites everyone to participate en masse in the mobilization of students on Thursday 08/02 at 12 in Propylaia (and in all mobilizations throughout the country)” reports OLME.
- We support the demands of the Student Unions, because education is the business of all the people. Not at private universities! Do not table the bill. No to the bypassing and revision of Article 16. Exclusively public and free education for all” emphasizes ADEDY.
- Everyone at the Panhellenic Student Assembly on Thursday 8/2 at 12:00 in Propylaia. The bill should not be tabled! Exclusively public and truly free studies!”, note the Student Unions.
- This is another attempt to collapse public goods at the expense of society, which is attempted by the neoliberal system and the Mitsotakis government, a strategic blow to Public Higher Education that will dramatically affect the whole of Greek society and the right of access of thousands of young people to higher education” states POSDEP.
At the time of the rally, traffic arrangements will be made in the center of Athens, while Panepistimiou is already closed.
