Internet usage has reached 96% of the entire Greek population
Nine out of ten Greeks are “one all day mobile at hand” literally, according to the latest edition of Focus on Tech Life Tips that listen to the relationship of Greeks with technology since 1995 at the initiative of Focus Bari.
In more detail, the research finds the following:
*The use Internet has reached 96% of the entire Greek population, as the large majority of older age groups are also among the users. The relationship with technology is predicted to grow, as the future comes from children: 9 out of 10 children (90%) aged 5-12 are internet users. In children 10+ the use is universal (97%). The average time children spend online is 100 minutes/day.
*Nine out of ten Greeks are “all day with a cell phone in hand” literally. Greeks are mobile internet fanatics, with 92% surfing via mobile and 88% on a daily basis.
*Activation on social media by almost the same ratio obviously “triggers” this development, although at the same time…
*The e-commerce market is constantly rising – now at 69%.

*Chat GPT is already used by one in four Greeks.
Almost 7 in 10 (69%) have made at least one online purchase in the last 6 months. 25-34 year olds are the fans of e-commerce, since 87% have made at least one online purchase within 6 months. Contrasted with older users aged 65+ who are not as familiar as just 37% have shopped online.
