The list of games will be checked for unfair profiteering
On December 15, the “Santa’s basket”, with children’s toys at affordable prices, while the list of toys will be sent to the Ministry of Development and checked to see if the Unfair Profit Act is being followed.
This is what the Minister of Development stated in the Parliament, Kostas Skrekasdefending the relevant amendment he tabled in the draft law on the Greek Land Register and which is being voted today by the plenary session of the Parliament.
“The basket will include the creation of a specific game list, which will be offered at affordable prices by stores that sell toys”, said Mr. Skrekas, according to APE-MPE. “Specifically, all stores and businesses with an annual turnover of over one million euros, specializing in the sale of toys, are required to send the Ministry of Development a list of toys that they will provide at affordable prices. This list must include at least one game for each category that the store sells.
For the products that will be included in the basket, the law on unfair profiteering and the gross profit margin of these products will be checked”, emphasized Mr. Skrekas. The Minister of Development clarified that optionally, and if they want to, businesses with a gross turnover of less than one million can also have a “Santa Claus basket”, but it is not mandatory.
