The first telematic meeting was held today, December 10, 2024, in a meeting room of the Administrative Court of First Instance of Patras and in the remote location – audience of the First Court of Keafallinia in the Argostoli Courthouse.
“Today’s telematic meeting is yet another confirmation of the Government’s consistency through the Ministry of Justice in creating the conditions that ensure the speedy and effective administration of Justice. This is a historic moment for Greek Justice”, stated the Deputy Minister of Justice, Mr. Ioannis Bougas who attended the meeting room of the Administrative Court of First Instance.
With the observance of all that is provided for in Law 5028/2023, in the Code of Administrative Procedure and with the Act of the President of the Administrative Court of First Instance of Patras, the telematic meeting from the Administrative Court of First Instance of Patras became possible for the first time at the telematic judicial office at the First Court of Kefallinia in Argostoli, using remote connection technologies.
The implementation of telematic court offices in the transitional seats of the Regular Administrative Courts, started today and will last for 2 full judicial years and, after resolving any issues that may arise, the transitional seats from the beginning of the judicial year 2026 will be converted into telematic court offices. At the same time, the project of upgrading the OSDDYY-DD will have been delivered, which is a necessary condition for achieving the goals of the road map.
“The transitional seat of Argostoli, as one of the telematics offices of the Regular Administrative Courts, was found to be fully equipped logistically and digitally in order to hear today for the first time two cases with a telematic session”, emphasized Mr. Bougas while adding that: “With the introduction of today’s vaccine trial, but also with those planned to be carried out based on the defined schedule of actions, it is possible to familiarize Judges, Court officials, Lawyers and the parties, with the use of telematics . Undoubtedly, the possibility of organizing and administering Justice with the use of modern technology modernizes and upgrades its operation and the way it is administered, while enhancing citizens’ access to it. For this reason, the road map of Administrative Justice and in general the existence of a coherent spatial policy for justice is a foundation for its rapid and effective award, while guaranteeing the effective operation and protection of the rule of law”.
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Justice Mr. Pelopas Laskos, attended the Argostoli Court of First Instance and said: “It is a great day for Justice and it is a great day for administrative justice. Today we connected two audiences, Kefalonia and Patras, where the Court was sitting. Colleagues, Lawyers, Litigants were able to appear and defend their rights from a distance, gaining easier access to Justice. It is a moment that makes us proud as Greeks because our country is at the cutting edge of technology, it has embraced and exploited modern technology, it has brought technology into contact with Justice ensuring the rights of citizens, the rule of law and it gives us confidence that better days are coming. This has been a government priority. It took struggles and many people worked to get to today, but the government’s choice has been vindicated.”
