“The battle to reduce prices continues,” the Minister of Development emphasized
It exceeded the original goal of the government, its initiative “permanent price reduction” which were the 500 products, as until yesterday 650 products from 53 companies had joined the program.
The next goal is 1,000 products that cover basic needs of a household, as noted by the Minister of Development, Kostas Skrekas, during today’s visit to a supermarket store in Galatsi.
The minister underlined that the permanent price reduction tags have been placed. They are those that indicate that the respective product belongs to the program and has reduced its price by at least 5% for at least 6 months.
At the same time, Mr. Skrekas added that “the battle for the reduction of prices continues on three axes:
- Continuous and intensive controls in the market, at all stages of the supply chain to prevent the phenomenon of profiteering
- “Permanent Price Reduction” initiative, where we ask suppliers to steadily and permanently reduce the price of their products
- and the “household basket” that continues and the consumer can find products with the lowest prices to meet daily needs.
