The Minister of Development Kostas Skrekas spoke about the new discounts on products necessary for the household.
“It means that all products that suppliers decide to discount for at least 6 months and for at least 5% on the shelf price will be specially marked. We want the consumer when he enters the supermarket aisle to see which products are on sale,” he said, speaking to MEGA.
“The goal of the Ministry of Development is to include at least 500 product codes, which are necessary for households”while he emphasized that the controls do not stop and the fines on the companies for filthy lucre are harsh.
Regarding the accuracy of vegetables and fruits, he said that the prices in our country are starting to decrease compared to other countries, such as Spain.
“While we started to have most products the same or a little more expensive in price than Barcelona, we see that last Monday we had 17 products in vegetables and fruits cheaper and 11 that were a little more expensive. We see day by day how the prices of Greece have started to decrease compared to Spain”, he said.
“We want to achieve the permanent reduction of the price on the shelf. We don’t want to have changes or for the consumer to wait for 1+1 to buy a product”.
