The girl was hospitalized with serious injuries at the Kavala Hospital
The 19-year-old girl passed away at noon on Tuesday (12/12) from her P. Zygos Xanthi, who was hospitalized seriously injured in the ICU, at the Kavala Hospital, as reported by the xanthinea.
The 19-year-old had been pulled over by a vehicle driven by a police officer, a few days ago, and fought for her life in a particularly critical situation.
The girl was initially transferred to the General Hospital of Xanthi with severe brain injuries, while it was immediately deemed imperative to transfer her to the hospital Kavala.
The news of her death spread sadness to relatives and friends, but also to the entire local community of Xanthi, which was shocked by the tragic incident.
Her parents are asking for justice
On Tuesday morning, through their attorney, Michalis Paterakis, the parents of the 19-year-old girl issued a statement requesting that more light be shed on the case, which ultimately took the life of their child.
They noted in detail in their statement:
“While our 19-year-old daughter is bravely fighting for her life in the ICU of the Kavala General Hospital, we are anxiously following the investigation into the exact circumstances of her serious injury.
We are asking anyone who knows anything about the tragic incident to contribute by giving information to the authorities that may help solve the case, as the smallest detail is capable of leading to the truth.
We sincerely thank all our fellow citizens who stand by us and offer their support. Their undivided support is a source of strength and comfort in these difficult times for our family.
At the same time, we express our gratitude to the medical staff, for the superhuman efforts they make in these critical hours, to help our daughter.
Our complete trust in the Greek police and the judicial authorities is non-negotiable and we rely on their coordinated efforts, so that those responsible for what our child unjustly suffered will be brought to justice for their actions.”
