Changes to Metro and Tram routes – Which roads will be closed
With the 21 cannon shots on Lycabettus, the events for the celebration of the national anniversary of October 28, 1940 began in Athens, according to the established protocol.
Specifically, the first cannon fire fell at 7:46, while the events will culminate with the military parade in Thessaloniki.

Modifications will apply to urban transport schedules, due to October 28 and the festive events. As announced by OASA: “We inform the passenger public that due to the events celebrating the National Anniversary of October 28, the OASA group will make, during the student parades and until their end, temporary modifications to the route of bus lines and trolley lines in all the municipalities of the Basin, depending on the indications and measures of the Traffic.
In addition, by order of the Hellenic Republic of Greece on Saturday, October 28, 2023:
“Syntagma” Metro station will close at 8 am and trains will pass through it without stopping.
Line 6 of the “Pikrodafni – Syntagma” Tram will have a temporary terminal at the “FIX” stop from 8 am.
Tram Line 7 “Asklipieio Voulas – Agia Triada Piraeus” will have a temporary terminus at the “SEF” stop from 9 am.
The restoration of traffic is expected after the completion of the festive events.

Municipality of Athens (Central Parade), from 09:00 until the end of the parade:
L. Vas. Amalia, along its entire length and on its diagonals up to the first parallel street.
El. Venizelou (University), along its entire length and on its diagonals up to the first parallel street.
Sofia Avenue, in the section between Konnou Avenue and El. Venizelou (University) in both traffic streams, as well as on the perpendicular ones up to the first parallel street.
L. Syngrou, in the section between Ath. Diakos and Dionysios Areopagitou streets.
Ath. Diakou, along its entire length and on its diagonals up to the first parallel street.
Municipality of Athens (Cathedral Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens Doxology), from 06:00 until the end of the events:
Metropolis, along its entire length and on its diagonals up to the first parallel street.
L. Vas. Olgas, along its entire length in both traffic streams.
