EOT at ITBberlin 2025 exhibition in the German capital
Greece and EOT have been at the heart of international tourism interest in one of the world’s largest tourist exhibitions, Itbberlin 2025 (March 4-6), gaining particularly encouraging messages for a new large increase in tourism from Germany.
In Berlin IT 2025, Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogiannis and EOT delegation led by Secretary General Andreas Fiorentino went to Berlin. EOT participated in the exhibition with an impressive 1,007 sqm booth and the largest mission of recent years, consisting of a total of 87 co -operators, including Greek tourism businesses, regions and municipalities.
2024 was another record year for our country, with a significant increase in revenue and arrivals from Germany. It recorded $ 3.6 billion and more than 5 million German tourists, who made Crete as the 3rd most popular holiday destination in Europe. For 2025 there is a new upward trend of Greek tourism in the German market, with a double -digit rate of increasing tourist figures from Germany.
This came from a series of contacts made by EOT Secretary General Andreas Fiorentinos with representatives of the largest German aircrafts such as Lufthansa, Condor Airlines and Discover as well as important Tour Operators for Incoming Tourism from Germany, such as Tui, Tui, Dertour and Schauators Reisen, who confirmed Greece’s dynamic course in the German tourism market that is moving at a double -digit rate of tourist figures for 2025.
The constant goal of the EOT leadership is to further promote lesser known to the German public of Greek destinations, as well as to promote the diversity of the country’s tourism products in already known and established destinations. To this end, a special gastronomic event was organized at the EOT booth, with the aim of highlighting the local tradition of Santorini, Karpathos, the Peloponnese and Thessaly, as well as a special presentation of the island of Thassos. German visitors also had the opportunity to enjoy a gastronomic experience of tasting of Greek olive oil, olive and raisins, of high quality.
By vehicle for last year’s strong performance, the EOT administration continues the strategy of promoting and promoting sustainable Greece, which provides authentic tourist experiences throughout the year.
