Those destinations that star in this list and if travel trends for 2025 are taken into account, then these places are expected to see a significant increase in visitors
One of the most famous travel guides in the world, Lonely Planet, recently published its list of the 10 best beaches in the world for 2025, and among them is a Greek one.
Lonely Planet’s travel experts recommend must-see destinations across countries, cities and travel trends, with Australia taking center stage this year after two of its beaches took the top spot. As Lonely Planet’s General Manager of Trade, Sales and Marketing, Chris Zeiher, says: “These are unique experiences that connect travelers with nature in a meaningful way.” So, as is obvious, the destinations that star in this list and if we also take into account the travel trends for 2025, then these places are expected to see a significant increase in visitors.
At the top of the list for 2025 is Whitehaven Beach in Queensland, Australia, with its turquoise waters and white sand. It is not the first time that this particular beach has been included in the top of the lists of the “best beaches in the world”, which is quite understandable, since it is really beautiful, a dreamy beach, taken from a postcard. The swirling turquoise waters, with an average water temperature of 26°C all year round and the powdery white sands are the ideal spot to dive and relax.
Next up is Squeaky Beach in Victoria, Australia. Located on Wilsons Promontory, this particular beach is surrounded by protected wildlife and offers hidden rock pools with crystal clear water.
In third place is Anse Source d’Argent beach in the Seychelles. A perfect tropical spot, surrounded by granite boulders and shallow turquoise waters. This particular beach will take you to a dream world.
In fourth place is Sunset Beach in Thailand. ‘Hidden’ in the Trang Islands on the southern Andaman coast, this beach offers emerald waters, jungle-covered hills and, as its name suggests, spectacular sunsets.
In fifth place is a Greek beach, the famous Sarakiniko in Milos. A surreal volcanic landscape of alabaster cliffs, caves and stone arches. This beach offers a striking contrast of white cliffs and endless blue sea.
It is followed by Hawkland Beach in Lofoten Islands in Norway in sixth place, Playa Balandra in Mexico in seventh place, Pfeiffer Beach in California in the US in eighth place, Hanalei Bay in Hawaii in the US in ninth place and the beach in tenth place Platja Illetes in Spain.
