Only Bulgarians and Hungarians are paid less than Greeks
Among the countries with the lowest salaries in Europe of the “27” is Greece, according to data released by Eurostat.
Specifically, according to Eurostat, in the European Union of “27” in 2023 the average annual salary adjusted for full-time employment was 37,900 euros, reflecting an increase of 6.5% from 35,600 euros in 2022. The highest average annual full-time salary among countries of the EU was recorded in Luxembourg at 81,100 euros. It is followed by Denmark with 67,600 and Ireland with 58,700.
In contrast, the lowest average annual full-time wages were recorded in Bulgaria at €13,500, Hungary at €16,900 and Greece at €17,000.
