The image of its stations is gradually being renewed Measure of Athens, as part of a more general network renovation program, which is currently underway.
As pointed out in a relevant announcement by STASY, the central station of the “Syntagma” Metro, 25 years after its opening, now displays a noticeably improved image. The large-scale coloring works of the station’s surfaces and the change of the electronic screens at all levels are interventions that contribute to its aesthetics, but also to its substantial upgrade. In fact, in the climate of the days, the “Syntagma” station put on its festive clothes and welcomes the passengers with an impressive Christmas tree in its brightness and dimensions.
Similar technical interventions were also completed at “Panormou” stationfor the coloring of which pilot photocatalytic paints were applied. It is an innovative and promising solution, which is being tested at the specific station and aims to improve the quality of the indoor environment and the building’s energy savings.
At the same time, technical work is underway on the exterior and interior spaces of the station “Chalandri”.
The first phase of the Metro network facilities coloring program has a budget of 770,000 euros. For its continuation and expansion, a new tender is about to be announced, amounting to 2 million. euro.
The program in question is part of an overall plan by STA.SY to upgrade the Athens Metro network, with a gradual implementation horizon over the next 5 years. The design concerns a network of interventions in the critical areas of network operation and maintenance, which will allow STA.SY to maintain the high level and further improve the services provided to the passenger.
