Following the completion of the procedure provided for by Law 5062/2023 on the new public sector administration system and the preparation of the final table of the dominant candidates by ASEP, the Deputy Minister under the Prime Minister and a government spokesman Paul Marinakis is going to suggest to the general meeting of ERT SA The selection of journalist Yiannis Papadopoulos as President.
In the announcement it is known that at the same time, the Deputy Minister’s recommendation will be notified to the competent Special Standing Committee on Institutions and Transparency of the Hellenic Parliament for an opinion. With the completion of this process, it is now the first time that the administration of Greek television radio at the level of the president, as well as the Managing Director, has come from the above selection process, which ensures meritocracy and maximum transparency.

Giannis Papadopoulos began his television career on ERT. He has worked as a reporter, author of matter, parliamentary, diplomatic and political author, editor -in -chief and news presenter and newsletter, and has been in newspapers in newspapers, television channels and radio stations for the last eighteen years.
At the same time, he has served as a member of the Press Office of the Presidency of the Republic from 1997 to 2021.
