Will be played on HBO
A legendary actor is getting ready to play one of his favorite characters Harry Potter.
Six -time Emmy John Lithgow is in final discussions to portray the famous Albus Dumbledore in the ambitious HBO series that is adapting the extremely popular fantasy books, according to Deadline sources.
“We believe that such a high profile series will cause many rumors and speculations,” HBO said in a statement.
“As we are in the process of production, we will only confirm details when we finalize the agreements,” he added.
The series designed to last over a decade comes from screenwriter/showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director/executive producer Mark Mylod.
Casey Bloys, chairman and chief executive of HBO and Max Content, described the series as a “faithful adaptation” of J. JK Rowling, which will “deeply dive into each of the iconic books”.
It is noted that the powerful magician Dumbledore is the Director of the Hogwarts Magic School and the founder of the Phoenix Order, an organization fighting against the “lord of darkness” Lord Voldemort, was reported by RES EIA.
In the first two films of the famous film series, Richard Harris incarnated, and after his death in 2002, Michael Gambon took over. Jude Law played a newer version of the character in the films “Fantastic Beasts”.
The upcoming television series “Harry Potter”, which will be filmed at the Warner Bros Studios Leavesden as well as the films, is scheduled to debut on HBO in late 2026 or early 2027.
