Consumers are looking for products and gifts at the most advantageous prices in the markets, just before they leave for their Christmas holidays.
In the central meat market of Athens, consumers will find pork and beef at last year’s levels. In particular, pork costs from 3.99 to 5.99 euros per kilo, beef from 6.50 to 9.90 euros per kilo, turkey which this year is hard to find from 10 to 12 euros per kilo, lamb and goat from 9 to 12 euros per kilo. The gifts that are first on the lists are clothing and footwear, electronic devices, personal care items, but also small symbolic gifts.
Today Friday the shops will close at 21:00. The festive opening hours of the stores in the following days are as follows:
- Saturday 23 December: 09:00 in the morning until 21:00 in the evening
- Sunday, December 24: 11:00 am to 6:00 pm
- Monday, December 25: Closed
- Tuesday, December 26: Closed
