This is a report by the editor of “Le Figaro Magazine” Sarah Chevalley, who is considered one of the leading travel journalists in France. Sarah Chevalley and photographer Eric Martin visited Greece between 24 June and 03 July 2024, specifically Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, in order to collect the necessary material from the area of Kavala, the archaeological site of Philippi, Thassos, Samothrace, Xanthi and Alexandroupoli.
The press trip was organized by the E.O.T. Service. of France in collaboration with the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, whose assistance was invaluable in ideally promoting the area as a new, up-and-coming alternative holiday destination to the French public throughout the year.
The tribute highlights the region’s cultural heritage, gastronomy, nature activities and suggestions for holidays in Thassos and Samothraki. Our French guests visited, among others, tobacco artisans, the Silk Museum in Soufli and the shadow house of Triantafyllos Vaitsis in Xanthi.
