Bank shares recorded gains of 21.14%
The Athens Stock Exchange closed 2024 with gains of 13.65%, completing the fourth consecutive year of growth (39.08% in 2023, 4.08% in 2022 and 10.43% in 2021).
The General Price Index closed in 2024 at 1,469.67 points, compared to 1,293.14 points in 2023, marking an annual increase of 13.65%.
The large-cap index gained 14.34% and the mid-cap index gained 3.70%.
The Banking Index recorded a rise of 21.14%.
The average daily transaction value increased by approximately 26% and was close to 140.2 million. euros against 111 million euros in 2023.
The total market capitalization increased by 15.257 billion. euros and amounted to 103.145 billion euro.
In the last session of 2024, the General Price Index closed at 1,469.67 points, up 0.92%.
The value of transactions amounted to 72.28 million. euros, while 18,505,755 shares were traded.
The large-cap index rose 0.89%, while the mid-cap index gained 0.43%.
Of the large capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of OTE (+2.27%), Lamda Development (+2.24%), Sarantis (+2.06%) and Motor Oil (+1 .98%).
On the contrary, the biggest fall was recorded by the shares of Eurobank (-0.45%), PPA (-0.33%) and Alpha Bank (-0.28%).
The largest volume of transactions was presented by Alpha Bank and Eurobank, trading 5,537,007 and 2,959,686 shares, respectively.
The highest transaction value was recorded by Terna Energy with 9.89 million. and Piraeus with 9.64 million euro.
74 stocks moved up, 24 down and 21 remained stable.
The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Mouzakis(k) +9.92% and Klosterias Nafpaktos +7.00%.
The biggest drop was recorded by the shares: Ktima Lazaridis -4.62% and Frigoglass -3.64%.
