The General Index rose above 1,280 points
Maintained the mild upward trend Athens Stock Exchange which despite sluggish trading managed to climb above the barrier of 1,280 points. The General Index strengthened by 0.6% to close at 1,283.12 points. The turnover was 95.3 million euros, while the volume of transactions was 21.14 million pieces. The large-cap index increased by 0.85% and the mid-cap index by 0.45%.
The Banks index registered a significant increase of 1.86%. Overall, 53 stocks advanced, 52 declined and 22 were unchanged. Significant gains (3.35%) and 3.06%, respectively, were recorded by the shares of National Bank and Bank of Piraeus, it was reported in APE BEE.
