The General Price Index closed at 1,203.08 points, recording losses of 1.23%
Share prices recorded bearish trends in today’s session of the Stock Exchange, with the market retreating towards the levels of 1,200 points, amid bearish sentiment in the European markets, in the wake of the statements of the central banker of the Fed which brought back to the table the possibility of new rate hikes.
The General Price Index closed at 1,203.08 points, down 1.23%. Intra-sessionally, it recorded a lower price at 1,199.18 points (-1.55%).
On a weekly basis, the main stock market index registered a drop of 1.37%, while since the beginning of the year it has recorded gains of 29.39%.
The value of the transactions amounted to 73.49 million euros, while 19,931,899 shares were traded.
The large-cap index fell 1.42%, while the mid-cap index fell 0.27%.
Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of PPC (+2.30%), Elvalhlcor (+0.84%) and PPA (+0.46%).
On the contrary, the biggest fall was recorded by the shares of Motor Oil (-3.04%), Jumbo (-2.91%), Alpha Bank (-2.58%), Eurobank (-2.16%), of OTE (-1.94%) and EYDAP (-1.74%).
Of the individual indices, the largest increase was recorded by the indices of Utilities (+0.82%) and Financial Products (+0.31%), while the largest losses were recorded by the indices of Personal Products (-2.65%) ) and Food (-2.62%).
The largest volume of transactions was presented by Alpha Bank and Eurobank, trading 4,789,733 and 4,339,531 shares respectively.
The highest value of transactions was recorded by OTE with 7.82 million euros and National Bank with 7.14 million euros.
37 stocks moved up, 66 down and 10 remained stable.
The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: CNL Capital +29.66% and Intralot +9.08%.
The biggest drop was recorded by the shares: Epilectos -9.91% and Akritas -9.72%.
