Bookings for smaller islands of our homeland, as well as for Cyprus, have almost doubled
The bookings for the summer of 2025 by customers of the largest Swedish tour operator, Ving (Nordic Leisure Travel Group), have increased by 11%, which is cited by the tornosnews.grcompared to the corresponding period last year, with Greece dominating among the most popular destinations.
Rhodes and Crete are the second and third most popular destinations on Ving, after Mallorca, but the biggest increase in bookings is recorded in Cyprus (+117%), the smaller Greek islands (+100%), and also in Turkey. At the same time, the fact that Sweden’s central bank last week cut its key interest rate by half a percentage point to 2.75%, marking the biggest cut in a decade, in order to “provide further support to the economy and help the stabilization in the target’, seems to have favored the travel bookings of the Swedes.
According to Ving, summer bookings were up 39% this weekend compared to the same period in 2023.
