“That made me very sad,” the singer said
Thodoris Marantinis was a guest on ERT’s “Studio 4” show, who referred to the legal dispute he had with his ex-wife. Sissy Christidou and the way it temporarily influenced his artistic path.
“It’s definitely a shock for everything to come out, but what’s worse is when things come out that aren’t true. I think that period did not affect the appearances with the band that much because I think fortunately the band has a good course and a special weight for so many years that is hardly affected by this part. I mean, I think it has an existence of its own that isn’t so much affected by whether I’m married or not or whatever,” said Thodoris Marantini and explained:
“Someone can say something, something was written either good or bad… I was happy to see that the performance part was not affected by anything that may have been written or was in the air and everyone said their own. This I saw didn’t even affect us playing somewhere or anything.
Only during that period when it was the court, some people were afraid professionally because I had this negative publicity then to work with me. This made me very sad because for a period some people said “there is this issue”. Which maybe makes sense for some sponsors, some shows that had a sponsor. This was a bit distressing and it saddened me that through this process it came to affect my job, working and making money for a living. All of this was influenced by something that shouldn’t have been.”
